J. David Stepan
Raised on the family farm north of Leigh, Nebraska, Dave continued his education at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln with a degree in Animal Science and Agricultural Economics.
He returned to his family’s farm after graduation where he was involved in raising corn, soybeans, wheat, and alfalfa. He also was involved in a cow calf enterprise and fed cattle. Dave enjoys working on the farm part-time. He currently raises reining horses with his wife and daughter.
Dave previously has worked in Ag extension and as an Ag lender.
Dave believes that Ag producers are great at production, however, time and emotions can be obstacles to selling their product to meet their financial goals. He believes marketing is one of the best ways for a producer to improve their bottom line to receive a greater return on their equity.
